The conference is designed to stimulate dissemination and promote interactions of interdisciplinary research from physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and engineering related to complex and nonlinear systems such as, cell motility, cellular separations, informatics, imaging, and waves.

ORGANIZED SESSIONS:

The Scientific Program will consist of regular presentations (30 minutes) and keynote presentations (50 minutes), and research posters.  Volunteers to organize sessions are now being requested. Interested persons should send a proposal to the scientific committee in care of Ms. Julie O’Bannon as soon as possible.

 

CONTRIBUTING PAPERS:  Prospective authors are invited to submit an abstract of no more than 200 words using the attached registration forms by July 16, 2004. Acceptance of abstracts will be announced no later than August 13, 2004.  Late submission will be considered only if there is space available in the program.  Submissions that are completed prior to July 16, 2004 will be considered for monetary awards.  No late submissions will be financially supported. 

 

REGISTRATION FEES:  Each participant who registers before July 16, 2004 can make a check or money order payable to Northwestern State University in the amount of $175 US.  Registrants who register after July 16, 2004 will be charged a $50 late registration fee.  Registration fees include registration packet, daily continental breakfast, daily lunch buffet, hospitality room, daily airport shuttle, and local hotel shuttle. 

 

ABSTRACTS and PROCEEDINGS:  A Book of Abstracts will be included in the registration packet and also available online after October 6, 2004.  We are actively pursuing a publisher for the conference proceedings, and further information regarding the proceedings will be announced on our website as it becomes available.

Historical Natchitoches Louisiana is conveniently located half way between Shreveport and Alexandria, both of which have international airports.  We have reserved a block of 100 rooms at the recently remodeled Ramada Inn in Natchitoches for $55.00/night plus tax (318.357.8281 or 1.800.2RAMADA).  There are also more than 40 Bed and Breakfasts and one hotel within 5 minutes of the conference and located in downtown Natchitoches (http://www.natchitoches.net).  When making your reservations, be sure to mention the ISIS symposium to ensure conference rates.
